It occurs to me that many threads in Arts & Modeling have nothing to do with content creation as well.
Imo most topics there are ontopic but this has nothing to do with "sound effects, game music, and the creation thereof.", it is stuff that isnt directly related to Spring blabla, who cares. --------- Yello - Oh yeah http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gqU_0xpILIU Techno with funny voice OH YEAH
also, lol a song about computers from the year 1968 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qk2jepguO_Y just wondering, as this was the time of flying to the moon and stuff it is maybe the first time ever the word computer was used in a song?
This is crossrepost, but I had to relisten to all those songs tonight so it's relevant. See if you can spot the two Spring video before checking them all. Oh, and not only you don't have to, but you should not watch the videos, just listen the music. Some images have the potential to ruin the sound.
My favourite songs were, in the chronological order I prefered them:
Descent's music That precise level was greatly enjoyable, though that came also from the level design that let me keep moving in wavy corridors without ever stopping than just from the music.
Lacuna Coil - To Myself I Turned (This was the first time I could replay a song directly after playing it. I usually despise people who keep replaying the same song over and over, so that was pretty odd of me.)
Lordi - Icon of dominance (Though only for a couple months. While Lordi are about the only metal band that has watchable music video, it looks like they don't made one for the song I like best.)
Not sure they're ska-rock or just mainstream pop, but I listened to Superbus, but then they started being successful so I couldn't like them anymore. And also No Doubt, of which the song I like most although it's unlike the rest is No Doubt - Dark Blue, just like Mylène Farmer - L'instant X (I mean, the fact that I like most of their songs but prefer the one that is unlike the rest). But then my mommy told me she has no voice, and anyway, just like I don't like old Britney Spears or Bon Jovi but Max Martin, I don't really like Mylène Farmer or Nathalie Cardone (or..) but Laurent Boutonnat. Anyway, from that era I also liked: Atomic Kitten - Right Now Mandy Moore - Saturate me (but much less anything else by her) Sheryl Crow - Safe and sound Hole - Northern star
Conclusion: It's amazing how there's only two songs I couldn't find on youtube (Not counting crappy lives). Oh, and half of my music taste is actually due to luckz.
wow. It'll take me a while to listen to all that. I'll let you know when I do though, I see some stuff I already like so hopefully the rest will be good :)
Every new year, they throw this overlong metal party at the Loco where they bring out old but good retired french metal bands. In 2008, the star turn was for Blasphème returning after I don't even know how many years. Having the whole crowd singing along "Vivre Libre" was so much more moving than any youtube vid could ever convey.

Blümchen - Ich Bin Wieder Hier (Maybe the only one of all those links of which I like the video that always come with music when listening to youtube.)
