That was actually a serious request. Continued updated projects need new codenames to attract the outsides attention. Otherwise its just the same old "spring" with a new number.

Yes, that was horrific... I'm sorry.

Could it be useful to vote for a "category" from which future spring names will be pulled? (Like the dessert theme of Android, or

I also think animal names might work (relatively neutral political ground) and are "mascot-able". Just don't know if it fits well.
Simply using the word "spring" in different languages might also work. For example: Frühling (German, at least that is what Google says)

I was actually considering asking for release names a couple weeks back. Damn my complacency!
As far as name scheme suggestions go, I'd go with something with relevance to the changes introduced in the update. This has the added benefit of hinting at what the release is about to occasional watchers of the project.
E.g. The last update, which introduced pathing improvements and safemode, could be named something like "One True Path, "Path of Least Resistance," "Faraday Cage" or just "Faraday" (A Faraday cage protects its contents from electric fields by changing the path taken).

using codenames means, that part of people will use hte codenames, others will use verison numebrs, and people do not understand each other.. it just adds complexity without benefit, except "it is funny". see ubuntu. also, we want to make spring (the engine) go more into the background, where users do not even know what spring is, when they play ZK. giving the engine codenames does not help engine or content devs.

Well, i dislike having it in the background. Something in the background doesent attract new devs who want to add features. Why not showing some Pride of the Spring heritage!
