springmapedit sm2 export messed up with ATI

Post by knorke »

On new computer with ATI card I now have the same problem as sprang:

Far away/zoomed out terrain gets fuzzy blocks and the minimap has stripes on it. (resizing minimap makes it look normal at some sizes)

(still working on supporting external dds tools)
I tried that version, did not help.

This map maybe has same problem:

Yep, I've tried all kinds of stuff and talked about this with Frostregen... bottom line is that SME and ATI just don't match, it's some multiple-year old bug with all ATI drivers. SME's map compilation would have to be rewritten to work around this.

I switched to Nvidia, and now everything with SME works great.

sometimes you get the feeling some bugs are deliberately not fixxed so that developers have to decide between one cardhouse or another, because delivering for both would be to much work done twice.
