New Map : WarpVal

Post by BaNa »

Image

Hey I had this map up my sleeve for ages, but I wasn't too happy with a few details. Since I won't be fixing those things anytime in the foreseeable future, I decided on releasing the map.

It uses teleportation extensively, I hope people are willing to try it out.

They are the teleporters. Each one will take your units to the other one with same color. It is basically symmetrical. If you are on the left side you have to have units going towards right to teleport, if on the right side, units have to go left.

I updated the map with sexy new lua, courtesy of BrainDamage!

There is now a mapoption that allows for the linking of teleport gates to change over time. The exploit involving buildings on the teleports is now fixed, they dont sink the ground but they do disapear O_O. Also, air no longer teleports!

I do not know, the holes went down to height of 100 (the height that the teleport teleports to), BD assumed it was unfinished buildings being teleported and so ground smoothing not ending in time. Braindamage fixed it by having the ground autoregen or something :D

anybody who wants to use teleportation in a map, feel free to use the lua in this one!

Btw if you are reading this BrainDamage, that invisible but shooting llt thing may need a fix :D

Its a Carrara texture with an overlayed erosion map from WM which genned the heightmap

Also: http://springfiles.com/spring/spring-maps/warpy-0 new version with hopefully the last bugfix

Very nice! I saw some games on it, and it looked quite fun.
Also am very happy with the general looks of the map. Good use of massive height differences.
