Erom wrote: So what if there is a workaround? I think it would be useful to have it default to true red... as FA said, it's just more intuitive.
It is because I come across to many people as a bit too opinionated or too strong with attitude and many people want to argue with me on that alone. When I was a kid people did that a lot and people got hurt. I guess some people never change.. I feel kind of sad.

Anyway, yeah there is no work around the colors are wrong there is nothing I can do. It is not like there is a blend. The red is applied as an overlay.

Devs, if you guys do not want to fix it please, I am not familiar with the whole svn operation but if you guys show me how to do it I will patch it myself. I am honestly reaching out here.

BTW Flozi, thanks I appreciate the unbiased comment.

When I said map, I meant map not texture map... I'm confused about how my sentence was interpreted....

Did you already test with a map that has:

UnitAmbientColor=0.0 0.0 0.0;
UnitSunColor=1.0 1.0 1.0;

The irritating thing is that in this community, Myself Smoth and various others have to hit people over the head with a bridge just to get a very simple point across. Then at some point we just get pissed off that people are being stupid.

Anyone remember the ressurectable features thread? I musta posted 4 times in that thread saying that currently it doesn't work because spring does not support it.

I was completely ignored. That is irritating and frustrating. Yes it would be a great feature to have, but atm spring has no way to link features to units.

features=tdf
units=fbi and a lot of other shit

== it's not gonna happen till someone implements it.

I tend to get irritated when someone tells me that I have no idea what I'm tlaking about in mapping. That's jsut annoying. I have no trouble admitting when I'm wrong definitively, but when it's something I know for a fact and the other people refuse to test it for themselves and just wanna argue, that's fucking annoying.

Anyway, smoth is right. That is ghey ass pink and if you have any clue what an rgb value is, you can tell that in the source those are not true colors.

rgb 255,0,0 is true red. Nothing else is truer red than that. If it does not list red as 255,0,0 then the source needs to be fixed. Period. Any retard that has ever opened photoshop/gimp should be able to understand that.

Fact is, if
UnitAmbientColor=0.15 0.15 0.15;
UnitSunColor=1.0 1.0 0.8;

Then red will be:

red_real = [0.15 0.15 0.15] + [1 0 0] * [1 1 0.8] = [1 0.15 0.15],

Plus the global OpenGL ambient it might be even worse, which probably results in the value you are complaining about.

EDIT: This "pinkness" should be changed by mappers, it is not an engine defect.

Just chang the values:
team[1]red at: 234, 000, 000
team[9]tan as: 164,142,104

please it is all I am asking...

The current:

Code: Select all

   teamColor[1][0]=255;
   teamColor[1][1]=80;
   teamColor[1][2]=80;
it is:

Please you have to believe me.

If I knew how to do the svn stuff I would.

For the love of GOD!

THIS IS the SOURCE!

THE COLORS go in THIS order! R - G - B!

Red - teamColor[1][0]=255;
Green - teamColor[1][1]=80;
Blue - teamColor[1][2]=80;

That woudl mean an rgb value of 255,80,80 THAT SI NOT RED, IT IS SALMON PINK!!!

255,0,0 is RED! RED RED RED RED! FFS!

Here is an image for the retardedly obtuse...

What is wrong with you (plural form) is that very same notion that you have to "hit people over the head with a bridge just to get a very simple point across", basically that you must get upset and enraged, insult and bash people until they agree with you. And what is even worst, is that you 2 may very well be wrong (or not, it doesn't really matters).

I, too, have seen many times arguments go unnoticed. I won't just start «... FUCKING ... GODAMN ... JACKASS ... fucking ... crap ... SHIT». Even if people replying made stupid arguments, that is no reason. I, too, reserve myself the right to be wrong some times, and make stupid argumentations because of it, and i don't expect to have just a negative feedback upon myself.

Just so no one explodes, the reason that smoth is asking for a 230 value for red is so that the ingame red shows up a dark crimson, which is frigging cool, and not a pink, which is fruity.

Hopefully we get smoth's new color pallet in the next spring version, it looks really good.
