TS3 (It's all that and a bag of chips)
Epicly long story short, TS3 is amazing. The amount of stuff you can do with it is awesome. Lua hooks, tokens... It's just 100% totally killer.
If you wanna test it out, you can always join the pub TS server, or if you want a little more localized, mine at:
forbodingangel.no-ip.info
port: 9987
pass: !@#$%^&*()
TS3 needs to be integrated with spring via lua gadget(widget?) ASAP!

For me, the sound quality for TS2 was the worst out of the TS-Vent-Mumble triad. I never liked the interface too much, and voice activation was always iffy for me. Mumble has a great overlay mode, extremely useful ingame, the best sound Q and great voice detection. Ill give ts3 a try later though, since it seems nice.

Re: TS3 (It's all that and a bag of chips)
TS3 has a speex codec (7.something kbit) 32khz and sounds like the person is sitting in the room next to you. There is even a mono 48khz codec (about 17 kbit) which is amazing.
Plus you can have a ts3 server with up to 512 users on 10 virtual servers. Unless you licensed it, the max on vent is 8.
Server admin is simple, because instead of a web interface, you can do everything through the client itself. It's extremely powerful.

Codec is irrelevant when you're talking with a prepubescent speedmetaller who is eating his mic.

I'm pretty sure mumble goes up to a higher codec, and unlike TS3, you can individually set your codec rather than have a room full of high codec users.Forboding Angel wrote:TS3 has a speex codec (7.something kbit) 32khz and sounds like the person is sitting in the room next to you. Shit, I thought I'd attract all the attention but you made your own thread instead D:
Yeh, TS3 is epic win and thanks for the pub server Forb. Been looking for one to use since it was released and couldn't find one.

Restarted it, now it appears to be working correctly. I'm going to have to reset the server again though because I had to uninstall the client to put it in non-UAC protected space and as a result lost the token for server admin.
Luckly, setting it up again takes all of a few seconds.
Ok, done. Jaz you'll need to log in using the above password, cause resetting the server also reset the database, so the previous token won't be of any use.

Try again, occasionally I have to restart the server. I meant to put it on a task to make it restart once a day, but I forgot.
Edit: Updated the server as well.
