Went to see The Jezabels last week.
Listening to Reuben right now.
Obligatory Hendrix.
Solo project from the lead guitarist from 65daysofstatic.
A lovely sentimental song.

Re: Did you have a nice summertime?
I managed to go camping a whole 2 times, and put shitloads of time and effort into trying to fix my bike only to realise now, at the end of summer, that it is effectively a write off. Gives me plenty of time to save up for a new one in spring at least... 0 river swimming 0 BBQs 0 staying-up-all-nigh...

Leaches don't read stuff like that. I read it! :P From the perspective of somebody who never contributes code per se, but has put time (and an insignificant amount of money) into less direct "devlopement" of OSS, it is quite refreshing to see the emphasis he placed on wholisitic developem...

You guys liked The Expendables? I didn't even enjoy it in the ironically moronic way I thought I would, just a terrible movie in every way.

Re: Anyone in Xta play minecraft?
Novakain (lol remember the [UKM]?) Is running a server, we are looking to mod it up quite a bit to try and make some sort of siege perilous style UO-esque experience. Its basically a platform for him to practice Java with, but it is looking like we may end up doing some pretty cool stuff with it. PM...

Re: New widgetfix required: cloak when ordered to
After a certain game phase I often have my com permanently set to "cloak: on". I think I personally would disbale this widget, more out of the habit of disliking "interfering" widgets directly ordering my units to do stuff than any concrete objection (I can see it being mildly ir...

Re: League of Legends
So I bought 9 atk speed marks for Kayle, then tried them out on Vayne and have had some success playing her with crit dmg quints and whoring phantoms/IE. I rarely see her played since the nerf, and was wondering if anyone plays her and if so how they build these days? Playing straight up AD like Ash...

Re: What do people want to xta 9.666 (or 9.67 even)
Is t1 fighter better than t2? Given that t2 fighters have (I believe) double the dps per-pass, as they fire twice as many missiles.
They are also faster, and radar stealth gives a substantial advantage, both in metagame terms and functional combat; it adds a particular edge in com sniping situations.

Re: 3 Player FFA
TCP is a 1v1 map, I think it kinda sucks for everything else.
That said, Noize's remake has much better metal distribution for 3ffa.
4ffa map suggestions:
Metal Heck (norly :D)
Lava Highground
Pydah Pass
Painted Desert Remake V2

Re: 3 Player FFA
The key thing that makes good 3ffa maps good, imo, is a "honey trap" - an incentive to overextend for a substantial economic advantage. This in turn incentivises the other 2 to attack that player- ohshit dynamic player interaction in a 3ffa? NOWAI Some examples of my favoured: Desert Triad...

Sub pen's evils: Op underwater tidal OP con subs No cost efficient way for sea lab to raid mex in 1v1 (sub pen is ALWAYS the best option in wet map 1v1) Retarded hp on minelayer sub While the lab is not really as strong in a straight up unit vs unit confrontation, it is orders of magnitude stronger ...

GRTS has transports that carry multiple units within itself (fully enclosed) XTA has multiple unit capacity transports that eject the transportees upon death (who subsequently take falling damage) ...it has been done a few times in v...
