Re: Reactions about 'Official stance on how ...'
If you agree, then why are you crapping all over the other thread? author don't give permission to manipulate it.. i mean, is possible that none notice that an ammo limit to the gundam bot was the perfect way (at least in my newbie opinion) to give the game the real appeal of zaku vs mobile suit wa...

Re: Reactions about 'Official stance on how ...'
Very clear description, and I have to completely agree with it. LUA code is GPLed, content can have different license. As it was actually initially intended by GPL. Moreover, GPL is code-based license, there is alternative license for the artwork, but it is not directly related to GPL, (I can be wro...

Re: TASclient annoyance
I would really prefer to just turn it off rather than figuring out how to fix it.
Please could anyone tell me where can I get an older version of TASclient, or its source code, or how to disable it in the current version.
Or am I forced to switch to springlobby now?

Re: TASclient annoyance
I do have default browser on FF, but it still does not work. Windows Vista.
I would also prefer to disable it completely, if that is possible. If not, where can I access the source code, to change it myself?

TASclient annoyance
The new and awesome (and totally useless feature for me) of the new version of the tasclient uses IE to access the news page, which is completely outrageous for me, personally. I have IE firewalled, but staring at a blank page is not very convenient too. Could anyone please tell me how to: 1) DISABL...

Re: Merc Squad 0.3b
I am actually quite interested in this game. Since I am an old fun of GCI and II, Ill try to give more details about the system of GCI (since the second version was more popular-oriented and the gameplay was worse) The system was very similar to yours here. You are not given credits, but you are giv...

Re: Merc Squad
Interesting design, although copies a lot from Ground Control I (which has been released free to the public recently).
Maybe take some points from it? It had the same dropship + buy gameplay, which was surprisingly balanced and interesting to play.

Re: cant play on dell mini
I got spring workig on Asus EEE PC, and surprisingly the performance wasnt so bad, 15 fps and little cpu lag on 4 vs 4 DSD BA. About a week ago I tried to install spring on dell mini 9, the linux version of it, and I couldnt even play in a single player, the game runs at 1 fps at 0.3 rate. I strongl...

FPS drop problem
System : Windows Vista Hardware : CPU : 2.4 Ghz dual Core GPU : Geforce 8600 GT CDDR3 256MB RAM : 4GB DDR2 Updated drivers Game : BA 6.5 DSD/other maps Problem : FPS considerably drops upon an explosion of a mine, roach bot, commander, or in some cases due to dgun usage. FPS drops for 5-300 seconds ...

Re: If I made my own mod, could I distribute the game myself?
I would still like to clarify the point: 1) You do NOT need to release the source for the unreleased files. (I.e. if I dont have .exe file, I cant claim the source from you) 2) You MUST provide the source for ANY modifications of the spring engine code for the publicly released binaries. (If I can g...

Re: If I made my own mod, could I distribute the game myself?
Short answer: Yes. Sortof. Due to being GPL, if you modify the engine in any way that code must be rereleased under GPL. If you're going to code in lua, or any of the mod coding resources (which are honestly probably easier to use for making a game out of spring anyways), that material is considere...

Re: Spring 0.77b6 testing
Game strangely slows down in bases, ~30-40 buildings, about 20 of them are nanorets, barely any units. CPU usage is at 80% of both of the cores, and the fps drops significantly. If you have that many nanoturrets, they're causing most of the lag, due to particle counts. Every nanoret releases about ...

Re: Spring 0.77b6 testing
#5 Buildings attack units they dont see. Jellyfish can attack a submarine, even if it is not visible for the player, and there is no sonar. Penetrators/doomsdays attack targets they cannot see. (no visible radar signal, targeted unit is not visible) :: unsure whether this happens when there is a rad...

Re: Spring 0.77b6 testing
I found that since the b2 and especially in b6 there are some very weird performance issues : PC : Dell XPS M1530 CPU : 2.4 Ghz GFX : Geforce 8600 GT 256MB CDDR3 @ 800Mhz RAM : 4GB DDR2 #1 BEFORE someone uses D-gun, the fps are running fine (~100) AFTER a single D-gun is shot, the game slows down to...
