Re: Bottom of screen cut off
Yup, fixed the problem, though I've never had this issue with any other program, can it be fixed in spring?

Bottom of screen cut off
When playing at a resolution of 1920x1200, the bottom of the screen is cut off slightly. It cuts off around the middle of where Metal/energy information is given on a selection of units. This also means if i put my mouse to the bottom of the screen, the screen doesn't move down. It's easy to get aro...

Dual screen mode help
I have a monitor with the resolution 1920x1200 and another with resolution 1280x1024, how do I setup dual screen mode with this? the settings.exe only accepts 1 resolution and with different heights for both, stretching across the screen doesn't work (i get an error), any help?

Re: Spring is running in SMP
widget per thread is not a workable idea - I don't think the lua interpreter is threadsafe. Whole LuaUI in a thread would be doable, I guess, but only with great care. doh! didn't think about that. Edit: It's far too easy to confuse yourself when thinking about multi-threading things. I was origina...

Re: Spring is running in SMP
While I'm not sure how widgets are loaded/run currently, it should be pretty easy to multithread LUA widgets - giving each widget its own thread. There are practically no dependancies (if any) from spring to the widgets themselves so it could bring some easy performance gains to those who run a lot ...

Re: The performance of the Spring engine
In CS the graphical FPS match the calculation FPS. Like I say, while I can't see the difference between 60 and 100 FPS, the game feels different, because it's running fewer calculation paths per second. This is most notable with bhopping. Both scripted and mousewheel, a 100 fps bhop is alot more re...

Re: Spring is running in SMP
You should submit it on mantis or in the dev forum maybe :) Forgive the newbieness, but the current spring already does use the cpu's nicely - half of each max, to be exact. (confused :| ) Edit: So now it'll be able to go above halves at times? Thats just the same thread switching over from 1 proces...

Re: Optimizing Math Functions
Hmm, nice. You implemented InvSqrt, what about regular sqrt? Also, your initial guess magic number seems weird, why 0x5f3759d5? I would use 0x5f375a86. Also the number of iterations needed must be considered. 0 iterations could sometimes be useful - it is very fast, and still relatively accurate. A...

Re: Tower Defense thread.
Clearly you misunderstand me.... TD is taking a break while I get acclimated to my job and do gundam models. In your last post you say TD is taking a break. This suggests you're the only one working on TD as otherwise you'd say you were taking a break from TD. From this I can deduce that other contr...

Replay file info = crap
Replays should be stamped with the start time of the game and the duration. It should also be sorted by date. Its pretty meaningless to have: Cometcatcher300108- 0 Cometcatcher300108- 1 Cometcatcher300108- 2 Cometcatcher300108- 3 Cometcatcher300108- 4 Cometcatcher300108- 5 Cometcatcher300108 For sta...

Team Viewer
Made this widget last night :D . It moves the camera to the team you are selecting with 1,2,3, etc. Only works for specs.

1v1s are pretty fun, but are too intense to play for a lot of people. Quite a few people have told me they dont like to 1v1 because its so intense and you need to be on the ball to play a good 1v1. I prefer 2v2s to 1v1s when i have my friends as allys and big team games can be a nice break/relaxing....

why is the rule 10 minutes? making it a 3 minute rule would be fine. Why shouldn't I be able to air drop @ 7 or 8 minutes? he's had 7/8 minutes to build ONE piece of aa in his base, while i have just spent probably 1k in metal and a lot of time building an air factory. In a fast start you can have y...
