Ever since I upgraded to b3, Spring runs infernally slow. I'm talking, REALLY slow. It used to run at over 100 FPS. Now it barely keeps 30. What's up with the new build? I know it's not my PC because on the rare occasion, b3 will actually spike up to it's usual over 100 FPS, but it usually stays way slow. Is this some kind of bug or what? It's absolutely intolerably slow.

Specs...

by Echo35
Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.4 GHZ (OC'd to roughly 15%)
nVidia 7950 GTX2 @ 1 GB (OC'd to roughly 30%)
Dual Channel OCZ Urban Elite RAM @ 2 GB (OC'd to roughly 10%)

Medieval 2 Total War with the graphics all the way up runs faster than Spring with the graphics at mid-low range. Oh, and 3Dmark gets about 9,800 Points.

EDIT; Oh, almost forgot, Windows XP x64 SP2.

*_* You poor poor soul, buying an overpriced card, that isnt all its worth in performance gains. I bet you a million dollars my 8800 GTS 640mb was half the price and runs faster!

Actually, it only cost $500 at the time I got it, and it over clocks quite well.

*_* $500!?!?!?!?!? You really spent that much?!?!?!?!?

I bought an 8800GTS for less than that, it runs all the latest games max detail lag free and I ahve yet to overclock it!

Yeah and AF also has a bigger penis! And cheaper too!

That is over 9000 pennies.

Honestly no piece of hardware is worth that much, at least not for me. Can't shit moneys. AF is right, you could have gotten the 8800 (retail price was $500 or $600 IIRC) instead which is superior by all means to the 7xxx series.

The point is that the 7950 and 8800 were released at about the same time.

the point is also, that this thread is concerning a problem with spring and not a price/performance rating-discussion 7950 vs 8800

Thank you (I bought my 7950 before the 8800, and the 8800 isn't cheaper). As I was saying, it runs mad slow most of the time for no reason. The older build didn't. Still have no idea why. Is it something with the code?

Well, that does work for a few minutes. And then my PC locks up and reboots.

Try reinstalling b2 and see if that still runs perfectly?

No luck. It works fine and all with threaded optimization off like the guide says, but then it locks up. It won't lock up with threaded on, but it runs slow as hell.
