Spring RTS Engine

Hi,
i just read some threads and the worst was the "a few quick things..." in feature requests.
More than TWO FULL PAGES people were flaming against each other while there was one in twenty posts beeing constructive and this is a shame.

And while reading this i think:
"Doesnt this forum have any f****** moderators?????"

I think, yes trepan finally closed this thing, but this thread went over days!!
And in addition i think that if mods haven't enough time to make their job they should think about successors...

if this community becomes more moderated you will have about 10 people left on these forums

and that will be the mods...

most gaming communities are like this (if not less moderated) and it works much better.

i do agree that there are some threads that get out of control but most are ok.

The same applies for mutes, kicks, bans; both
on the forum and in the lobby.

In a perfect world, sure, I could delete all the flame posts (to make the thread useful
once more), and ask that there be no more. But then there would be complaints about
the deletions, and it would probably be about 3 posts before it started up again. It's
easier to lock the thread and be done with it. Threads are cheap.

The mods do a good job

But people will leave the community and this means you accept people to be driven out.

And Spring does not really win in easily getting new users and contributors.

And on the other hand you cannot say that the community will drive out notourious harassers, because harassers are tough.

i couldnt name a single person i would welcome leaving this community right now. Maybe noize!(LAWL K NO FLAME ABOUT ME THXBAI)

so i dont think a problem exists. (allthough clearly the peopel who posts WHY BA IS THE BEST TO PLAY HONESTLY are in the mood for an argument)

this is also true of all the fools who post SpeedMetal sucks.

Caradhras, that explosion if you could even call that little fizzle between fang and crappage aka mechasonic has been a long time in the making. I am happier that they let it out rather then kept it bottled up. As someone who was and still is an easy troll target, I know all about getting flamed. The moderation staff actually is better now. It used to be a lot worse.
