Anybody here know how to play a windows 95 game on XP?

I have used windows 95 compatability on EVERYTHING, on the cd and off (256 colors and 640x480) and I should be able to play it.

But! It doesn't work, correctly. I can run it, only through my dvd drive (says insert disc on my cd drive, and won't acknowledge that it exists), and it fails to load damage and pain scripts.. As in! Enemies are ****** INVULNERABLE!!!! ITS BORING AND HAS NO REASON WITHOUT BLOWING THE HELL OUT OF STUFF!!!!

I wanna play Fallen Haven again, correctly...

Thats this round+tilebased strategy game right?
I only played the demo (i think, never managed to kill the enemy base you can only have 2 or 3 dropships and all landingzones are surrounded with stuff and there is hardly place to move)

peter200666:
-wants to install under win xp
-fails because errormessage "WMIX32.DLL not found" although the file is on the disc

then he copied the wmix32.dll to his \System32 folder.

next he got the message " Wavemix.ini must be in C\windows "
and he placed the file there.

new error: "error in windowsregestry"

some guy proposses to use the programs "Regmon" und "Filemon" to find out which files are used by the game.

in the end it seems he got it to work by:
-copying everything "as described" to the harddisc
-using the "use 256 colors" mode
-use "resolution 640x480"
-do no use win95 compatilibylblabla mode

I already copied everything according to the install guide, etc..

Yes, you have the right game. Tiles and everything, I even made a gunship model and textured it :D

At the bottom of here.

no problem.
I think I never got as far to build gunships in the demolevel  but it was still very cool to plan the perfect invasions.

Now someone tell me how to play Machines on WinXp...

Trust me, later game (you can't build gunships in the demo), gunships RAPE! I liberated 2 fully experienced ones (4 little green blips) and they can OBLITERATE whatever they so desire.

Plenty of arty range, and since I have so many upgrades I can shoot 3 times

Unfortunately, I do not know how to run your game :(
