A friend in dire straits.

I have received the grim news that Harrier, one of my associates with the Freelancer modding community, is on death's door with cancer, and may not live through the next 24 hours. Since this was my last stop before arriving here, I thought it was appropriate to share.

This is terrible news. He was a fine painter and modeler, and an asset to that community- one of those helpful, friendly and useful people who are so rare in the maelstrom of rudeness, ignorance and apathy that is teh Internets.

None of you know him, and probably none of you even know his work. I just offer my public tribute here because I think that you should know he existed. The pool of people like him is always small, and he was admirably attached to that community and its people.

Wait, Harrier has cancer?

I never knew that. Damn, he's a damn good modeler...

Thats pretty sad. I never knew Harris, but he sounds like a real nice person and I'm saddened by his immenent death. I can only hope that he might pull through. Stranger things have happened.

May he survive and live to a ripe old age.

Thoroughly worn out is this body, a nest of diseases, perishable. This putrid mass breaks up. Truly, life ends in death.

Through many a birth in samsara, wandered I, seeking, but not finding, the builder of this house. Sorrowful is it to be born again and again.

Hopefully he will pull out of this hellish dive... If not, it shall be unfortunate for his death... I don't know him, in any way, but if he understands video games and modding, I already love em

He has died

The most fitting tribute I can make for him is a link to some of his work. It's a pity that there aren't better screenshots of some of his more amazing models, frankly- he was a truly dedicated and skilled artist:

This is one of my favorite pieces by him- a real masterpiece of skinning:

For him who is assailed by death there is no protection by kinsmen. None there are to save him ├óÔé¼ÔÇØ no sons, nor father, nor relatives.

Y'know, I read the back of that book several years ago, and I decided not to read the whole thing because I could tell that one of the main characters was going to die.

I think it said something like "when tragedy strikes..." or "then a horrible thing happened..."

Against death doth no door hold bar.

Even though the body dies the soul lives on in his beautiful works.

Unflppin real, he made models that put the obelisk to shame, better than Supreme Commander infact.
