Supcom style 'ferry' command for transports

In supcom, if you select a transport you can set it to ferry units to another position by issuing a ferry command on the drop off point. Then a small ferry symbols displayed on the map and if you select untis and right click on it the transport autotransports them to that point. This way factories can set it as their rally point and have their units autodropped off.
You can then take other transports and right click on the ferry symbol and they join in helping ferry untis to the drop off point.
You can then take the dropp off point marker and drag it around to change where they're headed.
It would make transports a lot easier/faster to setup.

why not just use load-unload with repeat orders?

too much hassle, often goes wrong and needs setting up, not apparent to new users, and a general pain to use, needs cancelling and redoing to change the drop off point.

How is it too much hassle? click "repeat", click "load", shift-click "unload". If that doesn't work properly, then that failure is the bug. The UI is already way too complex, we don't need another dozen buttons.

issue ferry command on drop off point
versus
make sure there're no units in pick up area
set repeat
set area load
set area unload
set move back to load area
if transports started loading units during above cancel and start over again
repeat if you want to move location
every 5 minutes check the pick up point to make sure that units havent overflowed so they're on the edge and arent being transported.
if path to drop off point goes over any enemy positions abandon above and do it manually as your transports will most likely ignore some of your commands and head directly between the two over anti air or other..

i think load unload repeat chains are pretty haxx, stuff often fails to get picked up, tranports sometimes quit the chain and land..

There is an unreleased widget that does something like this...

I like it - you can order the Transporters with the current system to take a break if there is no work - and take this break in a Repairzone... Supcoms turn to get better :)

supcoms idea is simpler, and what I'm suggesting is an addition not a replacement.
