"Guard" like in SC

What i dont like about the guard order in spring is, that if you guard a unit with 10 others they just follow this unit, but they dont surround it like in SC.
In SC if you guard one unit with 2 others, one moves in front of it while the other covers his back.
If you guard with 4 units, one unit will cover every direction (left, front, right, back).
This would be much better... also in FF all guarding units are at one point and easy to destroy with areaofeffect weapons.

+1,
In addition units with roam should actively move within a max radius of the guarded unit to attack anything before it comes into range of the guarded unit. (so if you only have one unit guarding at the back it will change position to the front if the attacker is coming from that direction).

Best would be a "Guard Zone" around the Unit to protect and the Guarding Units patroulling from the CenterUnit to the OuterCircle and back.. That way you get a constant Moving Guard, that is checking in every Direction for trouble. And you can dose the Guardsmove by Circlerange like with Reclaim :)

Sounds more like formations to me and I'm pretty sure there's a thread or two about it. Hardcoding them only into the guard command looks like a waste of effort to me.

It would be a start, once I assumed that guard+roam does exactly that and was disappointed that it didn't :) (wanted blades to actively pursue anything that a gollie sees.)
