Broadband in Canada... who is the most reliable/best/cheapest? I need a good broadband provider if anyone knows some gudduns, thx[/b]

Hmm...I can't think of any Canadian springers who live in that area...might need to ask elsewhere.

Well the companies I know of are mostly american companies, but some of them may service canada in some parts.

Look for time warner cable (roadrunner <- the best)

Comcast (They are pretty ok)

Cox Cable - Made of fail and ghey compared to roadrunner or comcast, but most likely their speeds are better than most you would find in the UK at a comparable price... Meaning, that it will most likely be very satisfactory. Just hard to give them a good rating when I have had roadrunner for so long. Nothing quite like 10 mbit down and 1 mbit up for a flat 50 bucks a month.

Looks like DSL and wireless are all that is available.

Quicktip, if you can, use the wireless. Wireless is more likely to have better Up and downstream pipes than DSL, Considering that DSL is quite akin to aids. Cable internet surpasses DSL is every way possible, including cost. Wireless is generally quite affordable and as I said before, in my experience, wireless providers are generally higher speed.

Oh and for the love of god, unless oyu absolutely have to, don't get in a contract with anyone. Find someone that does month to month. Also, if you have to pay a setup fee, you might be getting screwed.

Meh, I think that's all I can remember as far as tips with dealing with these ppl. If I remember anything important I'll post back.

You can easily get 16meg for £20 a month ($40) actualy here, although i live in a field and can't get anything better than 1.5meg T_T

Yup Im living in the land of moose and mountie :) I was due to fly back to England last week but I couldn't bring myself to do it, its too much fun out here :)
The only thing I don't like is not having acess to spring because my silly gf stupidly bought a stupid, stupid mac. sigh.

A mac=PC since the 1970s, but seeing how Apple macs are now using intel cpus, you can install windows on that thing.

in vancouver , there is a company that provides fairly decent fiber optic internet, though I cant think of the name now... I dont think it was telus... For some reason I keep thinking it starts with an N, though I cant remember for sure, been awhile.

Dont you know that your mind consider what you wish to other a wish for ourself too and make it occur it you too?

I'd recommend you try shaw. Their service isn't universally good, but it can be very high quality depending on what network of their's you are on. They tend to be well priced though, and like I say, you can sometimes really luck out. If you try them and they suck for you at least you gambled on a valid possibility.
