To be fair, he was a fair bit of a dick considering she just didn't know what the hell she was doing on the computer. It's not that she isn't blameless, she should have looked for tech support, now browsed the dev list, but if squirrel mail is anything like the spring project the dev list is probably more visual then the support options. If anything I'd say the greatest blame is the ISP, they are using free software with no attempt to explain to their subscribers the nature of the relationship they have with the systems.

Pretty classic linux dev 'RTFM' event though.

The Downside of OS is a beautifull GF standing in your Door saying
"Honey, i am pregnant! But whatever happens i will stand 100% behind you!"

Which is like saying "Whatever happens, you will have to stand 100% Percent in front of Me!" :D but the Good News.. the Times have changed. Nobody runing to EA or other Companys to play it Save, because Burn-Out Worktimes and Non-Safe Workingplace (sb sw in Asia can do everything cheaper then you ;) - even posting in OS-Boards... ) including horrible Deadlines are now also available to OS, so nobody has to drop his Project to start a Family he wont see for months...

So if we don`t look on the Money OS is fine - and if we look it is still a great hobby.. :D

What are you doing developing for OS if you have a girlfriend and you can't figure out how reproduction works?

Yet another arrogant developer, ugh. Stupid questions or not, these are the kind of responses that give open source a bad name. Im not even going to get started on these people in this thread...

I disagree... the OS part is just marginal in that article. People like that (most stupid assumable users) deserve to be punished for their stupidity and ignorance or they won't learn at all. In fact people like that should be forced to do an internet license test.
Two thumbs up the butt for the bastard OS developer from hell! :P

He was just tired - come on there have been meaner things here to noobreuqests like "How can i avoid Lag on SM?"...

And i know how reproduction workx.. swift - the problem starts were somebody has to work, to keep the products happy. And OS makes no Money.. therefore it is tough to keep a OS-Project running, have to work and have time for the Family.

Sorry if that could be missunderstood.. and i didn`t read the posted link before - bad habbit...

Even though it is a bit funny that guy is a complete ass. Doesn't he realize how many people are out there that know absolutely nothing about computers?

...and they should be kept away from computers!

Do you goto HP/Epson/lexmark if a company sends you an incorrect bill?

I think OS Teams should behave more arrogant - in MS Case that solved everything...
just say it out loud. By creating OS Software and allowing it to be used by such people, you give there Companys a way to save Money. Money goes
a) to the Customers -> More Sucess more Money
b) to the rude Employ
c) into the Company -> More secure Job for rude Employs
d) that money goes elsewhere (that is a reason to rant, but not at OS)

So not only that this Woman rants at someone who works for free, to support her job, she also keeps him from working, because she was to lazy to use the HelpyourselfSupport or the Board. But don`t react professional on such Peopl.
