I finally looked back into a concept that Maelstorm had to make units be able to have base units that could have interchangeable turrets, but alas it was hopeless, until I saw in Smoth's script an FBI tag that I have never seen before: fireplatform, which turned out to be the magic script I had been looking for.
The latest version is BloX v8, which can be found here:

I've completely remade the mod to make it easier for me to work on[I can't model like Maelstorm], and removed the "slot idea" because it made the models look horrible, and I removed most of the OTA content, all that remains is replacing my internal bitmaps, and removing any useless ones, and removing nanospray/nanoframe, I have it set up in particles.tdf, but it's still there.

Also I tweeked the mod so that you can't "bottom out" your economy. Also now cars can't carry each other and I added a medium laser turret, a paralyzer turret, a speedy trike transport, a radar unit, and an advanced construction unit

ahh, why did you make it so that cars cant carry each other

. its fun creating 50 ubercar high towers of doom

.
anyway, what i reccommend is that you make it so that you cant expand so quickly. right now, its possible to have a full base with about 500 units within several minutes.

yeah, it was a patch I wrote a while back to fix a certain flawed behavior. It wasn't mentioned in the changelog(sorry, beyond my control) I did put it in the wiki though.

you wasn't around for the reception of it. This community is it's worst enemy sometimes.

What a great little proof of concept! A few things that need to be done:
The weapons need to be given avoidfriendly=0; and collidefriendly=0;, so the turrets shoot predictably through their chassis. They also seem to sometimes not fire right away, dont know whats causing that.
Some of the impulse needs to be toned down on the weapon. Perhaps make a special weapon which has an impulse effect? More variety.
The difference in ranges could do with being more pronounced.
The plane needs to be an actual plane.

Good idea. Bad realization at least now. Fun mod. Good effect when build great tower with more then 50 car and reclaim first block of this tower.
I dont know can it or not do:
Group - for example car and radar become one object - car with radar
and UnGroup of course.
How idea do car with more then one car - load object to left, right and other side not only up.
I want made Obelisk of death= tank with 8 car and 2 laser (how i say before): 1 car in center load 4 car left, right, back, forward side and 3 up car and on upper car 2 lasers.

In this mod you get your builders, they build your uber vehicles and turrets/equipment. You load the turrets onto the uber vehicles and then assault. Porcing is possible but the long range artillery can obliterate/scatter you base. I need to fix that because the impulse on the 2 new weapons is unreal.

perhaps some more modular deisgns would be good also? Hell this may be good as a lego/megablocks kinda thing.. do you intend on croping those shots? it is making the thread all stretched out.

This is a very interesting idea for a mod. It reminds me of the machinations project (it might be done with since the website is down). If you had a few more chassis with different attributes (quick scout, bulky damage absorbing, able to climb slopes, etc). Of course they would need to look different. It would make the game more involved/interesting.

To my previous message I want to add one idea do:
Lib of form(combination) - save all form what me get and then load in game to easy build in one object
Save radar plane, laser plane (car) and build them in complex form then.
Transformer - use "1" get big tower use "2" get heavy tank... We create this transformer in game or from Lib load use only identical bloxs. For example: tank and tower consist 5 car and 2 laser turrets. He unloads all part and then loads them in new combination.
Maybe it only dreams do it in Spring...

Play in 0.6 mod becomes better then before. Now in this mod really interesting play.
