EMP missiles

What do EMP missiles do anyways? Ive experimented with them and i observed that all they do is destroy radar. If thats all it does it seems pretty useless since radars are so spread out. What else does it do? And does anyone ever use them?

I use them in team games, when I encounter hard-porc or am attacking in concert with a Core player.

They disable Protoss shields.
Don't ask about units without mentioning the mod. Just the AA/BA/XTA confusion can already result in misunderstandings

in xta the emp launchers fire cruise missiles. Basically a smaller nuke which you do not have to build individual missiles for, but costs energy to fire. Great for overwhelming a missile defence system with a group of them, or rushing one before the enemy has anti

In AA/BA, Arm has a emp launcher, and Core has a cruise missile launcher.
