Spring RTS Engine

Okay, I was just looking at the memberlist for the forums and about every 10-15th person there is a spam username (usually involving porn) with an account name that is very vulgar.

I don't know about you all but there are kids that play this game and read these forums and I think they should be deleted and ip banned. I know it is time consuming but it needs to be done.

I'd do it for ya if you'd like. My main concern though is that the little kids click on their user name and go to that accounts website, it leads them to porn. If you haven't noticed, just look at the newest registered user sometimes and you can see the crap im talking about.

I'm just saying this needs to be taking care of really quick because of the kids that play this game.

Yea I noticed, it seems that phpbb boards often get hit by these spammers more often. I don't think it helps if you ip ban them either. I was on another forum (forum for the game Determinance) and I think an admin attempted to ip ban them, but they just kept coming back. O well...it's just something to live with I guess. Or we could pray the asteroid heading for Earth quickly arrives...

If I'm not mistaken, you can disallow usernames like that from even being created... I would have to check though, I'm not fully sure.

I doubt a community as open as Spring's can ever be "kid safe," but a lot of the steps in that direction are favorable from a cost-benefit perspective anyway.
