Stop badmouthing XTA

I'm pretty sick of people launching snipey comments about a mod they never play, particularly along the lines of "unbalanced". If you prefer to play another mod, then fine- play another mod. Needlessly "criticising" a mod does absolutely nothing positive for this community, and has no place on these boards.

It is especially funny AA players say that XTA is unbalanced when the water balance of AA is completely broken, not to mention some of the land balance (so much that it leaded to a fork).
That said, i have many complaints about XTA too.
That said, yes i am bad mouthing AA too, hahaha, so i think it probably is fair that people who hate XTA more bad mouth it too. (although there is the notable diference that i, at time, having been a moderate/good player with both, so i am not just saying i don't like something i hardly ever tried)

EE has the best naval balance of all the publicly available mods, mainly because Fang actually took action whereas caydr never bothered, and the XTA guys just argued, and most other mods such as gundam or nanoblobz did away with navies completely and just had hovers or amphib units..
Naval power in the OTA based mods is and always has been utterly pathetic. Although lately talk on the xta forums about naval balance and actions to correct issues with naval balance in balanced annihilation inherited from AA 2.23 may mean that soon enough naval balance in OTA based mods may become more reliable.

I agree that screaming "mod suqs coz itz unbalanzd" is well useless.
On other hand I don't see a problem in claiming that a mod is unbalanced if you have good arguments or that it is less balanced then other x mod (again if you have good arguments).
But I am guessing that pintle was talking about no. 1 case.

I played XTA a long time ago when Spring was first released, then forked over to EE and bOTA for a while.
Upon returning, I'm open to say that XTA is pretty damn well balanced. The problem is a lot of players seem to fear change and dont want to play anything except AA on Altored/Speedmetal/Small Supreme.
We had a LAN last week and XTA was a hit. I airdropped some Zeuses into a base and my friend just screamed "ZEUS F*CK!"
It was great. XTA == Win.

xta is 99% balanced and looks awesome.
AA is 1% balanced and looks like sack.
fearing change and losing their first XTA game is why most people are liek "lol xta suxx"
it is also harder to porc, harder to play, and the community is unforgiving and vets. only exp players can really get into it. but if your skillz its the place to be. and the XTA COMMUNITY HAS NO FAGGOTS, COMBOMBERS, TEAMKILLERS, DOUCHEBAGS because hey, thats right, theres so few players if someone is scum they get the shoe out the VIP server and back to "I HOAST SPEADMETLLSlolol"
people who say "lol xta sucks" are generally not in the know and below average players. perfect balance, anyone?

I once had a lollypop and it got all sticky and took ages to clear out but my friend never gets sticky and I never know why.......

Oh cmon, none of the mods in spring are perfectly balanced, sniping happens all the time and its usually by numpties who dont know any better so dont let it bother you! its christmas!

@fang, maybe, instead of spamming random threads with your stupid new catchphrase and pictures you could use your time more constructively, like reading up on GPL licencing perhaps?

you people are sitting in a thread about not bashing XTA and bashing XTA.. what part of pointlessness arent we grasping.. Just let people like whatever mod they like.. and go play your favorite mod.. arguing over what to do for fun is significantly less fun than doing something for fun..
