How do I get a Gmax to be come a 3DO model?

Export to 3ds or obj and import that via Upspring, if you can't export either of those formats you're screwed and need to use a 3d application that doesn't suck.

And for god's sake, don't use 3DO. Use S3O, and take full advantage of all of Spring's features.

Nice try, not happening very easily. The only way to export from GMAX is using game packs, then you have to convert that model format to obj or 3ds. Sorry, but its the truth.

Actually, there is a MD3(Quake3) file format exporter for GMAX. If you get Milkshape3D, then you can translate the meshes to whatever you want.
These were actually kind of controversial, when GMAX was new, and almost disappeared... I rescued them and made them available to the public again, through this site:
