Spring RTS Engine

I've pre-ordered my copy of supcom ^^.

I know when it'll arrive and I cant wait for it.

So while I'm waiting for the supcom experience I'm looking at these forums having spoilers and hints and other things that are ruining everythign for me.

I know you beta testers are all bragging about your beta copies, but I dont wanna listen to people being arrogant little sods shoving it in my face. Sorry but theres behaviour thats just plain selfish and ignorant, it's like self worship on a grandeur scale, I got it and you dont hahahahaha muhahahahahah! Any excuse to post a screenshot!

They could at least have the decency to warn users of spoilers, putting warnings in thread titles or something, show some basic level of respect.....

And I'm sick of the continuous will supcom pull all our modders away issue. Someone starts a 5 page thread and what do users do, they start another poll and a thread and spread it into different threads that arent supcom related and discuss it to death.

ffs, look at the modders we have, there arent that many active modders who've actually got sticking power, and most of them are community veterans from OTA. Why dont you just ask them if they plan on switching?

And did it occur to anyone that you can play both spring AND supcom? Or that more users and modders are being driven away from the forum by discussion of supcom, than supcom itself?

So I request that we have a ban on supcom discussion. If you need to discuss the supcom issue, there are plenty of supcom forums to goto.

Personally, i'd say that it should be allowed in offtopic, but nowhere else.

I think at least the Features Spring will borrow from SC will have to be discussed... if the devs find something intersting.

Bigsteve the issue is how do I knwo what not to read? It's everywhere! Of all the links and threads there's 1 or 2 threads with supcom in the name and thats it.

Whatsmore people arent linking ot the images via [url] tags they're using [img] tags in posts so I'll find a supcom shot without being able to avoid it because its too late I've seen it.

Honestly, just be lucky you can play it. I definitely can't.
Anyway, SupCom is nothing special, it's just another game. It's really exciting the first 30 minutes and then maybe a week or even month if it's really that damn good (which I doubt). But it's no reason for crap like that.

There were a lot of games I was all excited over when I was younger (5-6 years ago) and what happened? Played them for a week and begone with it.

If you don't like people talking about SupCom well then don't browse off-topic and avoid threads with the name SupCom or other indicators in them.

And please stop making a drama of everything! Take it easy man...

I read Edge magazine, and aside from Mr Biffo's halarious grumble-column my favourite part id the reviews and previews. Since I don't actullay have the time to play very much I use them to guide any purchase I do make and enjoy reading aoubt new/cool features and gameplay.
The only part of a gmae I'd never want spoiled is the story, but aside from that (or cheat's and spoilers of puzzels) I hungrily snap up all information, especially on a game I like.

Frankly, I'm not gonna stop em posting spoilers as a mod unless instructed to do so.

However, I WILL insist all supcom topics have a [SPOILERS] tag on them.

Spoiling what? We can't spoil the story, since there is no single player and most info is disclosed...

Just stay away from the threads with SC, Sup com or supreme commander in their name i your so keen on avoiding spoilers.

Dude. A) Don't argue with the moderators. and B) It stops people complaining with the tag, which is preferable. And C) We don't want to know ALL ABOUT OMGWTF THIS UNIT PWNS. We want to WAIT, and get to USE said unit in the finished version.

I can't wait to see the units in all their glory. Hearing about them second hand will dilute their effect for me. Or am I crazy? Whatever...

Fine, just tell us to MARK the threads. a ban of em is HARDLY needed.

Id agree zombie it is reasonable to politely ask to not post spoilers, but instead he made a huge post about it while whining like a spoiled 3yr old whos thrown their toys out of the pram, its just bloody irritating.
All that was needed was a small request for threads to marked as kixxe has suggested above.
