I don't see how a watership down movie could have anything on the book.
Aw man I love that book. I love how the writer made up a complete rabbit society, that manages to explain how even though in his fictional universe rabbits are smart, they still act like rabbits. And it's so... dark. Especially the first half. And the second half. Just not the middle, or the end. My only minor qualm is that the rabbit's view of the humans is IMO stupid.
I haven't seen the movie though. Did it cover all of the rabbit folk tales? Did it make the culture of Strawberry's warren really disturbing and forshadowy like in the book? Did it include all the extreme oppression of the Efrafra? Did it include all of the cultural depth of the Efrafra? Did it adequately convey the sense of hopelesness of everything to do with the Efrafra?
If you answered yes to the above, I may want to see it.

I'm too cool to read books.

Watership Down !?!?!?
Ok, It's got to be a good movie I suppose, because it affected me, but I got to say thats a weird choice, I mean... I can't think of any movie thats actully ever upset me more than that movie, that includes when I last saw it a few years ago. I mean.... Its just such a nasty film. I think maybe 3 films have brought tears, but this is the only one I think I have actuly cryed in.
Or is that just me that finds this film so disturbing?

You're going to like Felidae then...

Oh, Felidae has style. I think me and my sister watched that when our age was in the single digits. Fun. I think my sister was traumatized by it.

I've seen films that are suposed to be far worse though.... I think its littraly just somthing about that film, its style of art, its colours, its story, infact everything about it, that makes me for some reason sad. Other sad films I have no problem with.

#1. Super Troopers - They chugged Syrup, nuff said
#2. Hackers - Campy, bad acting, but really fun to watch
#3. LOTR - Meh, i'm a sucker for really cool camera angles and epic battles.

Cowslips warren isn't even in it, which annoys me. It's very different to the book, which annoys me even more. Rather shabby art too
