I have never heard anyone say "make it so." Isn't it more like dumb people say shiny?

BLASPHEMY!
"Make it so" is Capitan Picard's catch phrase.
"Shiny" is the word used in Firefly to describe 'nice' or 'cool'.

I have no idea who/what Capitan Picard or Firefly is

Star Trek ring a bell?
I can understand not knowing what Firefly is, as it is the worlds most underrated T.V show sence the history of forever, but you have to at least know what STAR TREK IS!
Thats like not knowing who...Clive Barker is or something...

I'm not, what people say, a true nerd. I don't like Star- anything or any other of those fantasy things (Final Fantasy, Lord of the Rings, WoW)
Who is Clive Barker

I think I'll just give up now...

Aren't there more nerdy sayings out there? Something like "Starcraft sucks!"

I don't know, and I REALLY don't care.

The only one I can think of is when I squished a spider and my dad asked "Is it dead?" and I responded with "Deader then Horus"

On the basis that lots of people use 'shiny' to describe cool stuff, 'make it so' is worse

One is the catchphrase of the Arch-Geek-Uber-Franchise (or so commen perception goes), the other is little known series thats well enough written that you can use apropriate quotes to make yourself appear witty/deep/whatever.
Take your pick :p

None of those things are "nerdy"
Being "nerdy" is being really skinny and liking computers, pretty much...
I think of "nerdy" as all the dumbasses that wanna get Halo 3, cuz it looks like it has great graphics...

make it so. shiny, in the context "OOOOOH SHINY" isnt nerdy at all because its used in non nerdy context. a lisping chap in glasses pointing towards the skyline and crying "MAKE IT THO!" is evidently the king of nerdyness ^^

Huh? Who's that. Hellraiser?
Eh and what does being skinny have to do with being a nerd? Visuals don't make a nerd. The fact that you spend almost all of your free time on the PC makes you a nerd. (sort of)
I never used shiny nor make it so in that context. I'd say use what you like the more. If someone calls you a nerd for that call him a nerd for bothering about what's nerdy or not. :)

I was actually thinking of Cabal, which is a lot better on a verity of levels then Hellraiser, but whatever...
