Well, I just thought Id throw this out there in case it is a problem elsewhere. After updating to the new version I can't start spring anymore - It freezes on the Splash Screen while creating forms.
Right now I'm dloading the whole new version to make a clean install - just to check if its a bug with my system or my old files.

Just an update - After making a whole new clean install I get the same problem. Just wonderin if this is a known problem. I'm running XP Professional. I've got no idea what other specs you guys need to better figure out the problem so go ahead and ask me questions.
Thanks

And I just found a way that fixed it for me. Take out all of the downloaded maps that you have except one - It looks like the game now looks at them when it starts and I think large numbers are somehow taking it down. Leave mars or some other proven map - run the program and then afterwards replace your maps.

I'll try that, then.

Spring looks for new maps and mods at the beginning and saves the info to ArchiveCacheV4.txt. It may need a long time long but shouldn't lock up your PC. I found that around 250 mb each time of new maps works fine for me, others don't have a problem with it at all...

The splash screen needs a loading bar...

You could just try it a couple of times. I think mine did this the first time, but later times worked fine.

It's just one-time-only processing stuff.
