Setting zeros/origins in Wings

Is it possible? It would kick colossal ass if it was. But I've been using it for like four years and have never stumbled across the function anywhere... Anyone know if it's hidden there somewhere? Thanks

This would be pretty good..
I forgot how to change origins over the past two days in UpSpring...
Clicking and trying to move em didn't work, I will have to look for keys and stuff...

I couldn't find it in Upspring either! Just "approximate origins"... which isn't really very useful. Maybe it's only enabled on S3O units or something?

I'll have to pop a s3o up then, cuz I really need to be able to set origins, or just check a tutorial..

You can't... at least not in wings.

<3 Truespace 3 :)
Though..it's certainly not the best for Spring, it uses a weird scale, z-up, and inverse faces. Other than that, it does everything I want it to.

It would be really great if we could assign an origin...
My suggestion would be to make an object named "Origin" or something like that to be considered the default origin point for a model.

Move the child object relative to the parent object's origin and hit Apply transform in Upspring. That resets the origin. For example, if I have a shoulder and forearm piece, and only the forearm is messed up, I'd need to move the elbow into the shoulder where I want the elbow's point of rotation, relative to the shoulder's origin, hit the button and move it back. Both myself and Argh have suggested a seperate tool for moving ONLY the origin in Upspring, which would be by far the simplest solution.

Click and drag would be awefully nice.

Manual origin edition would be nice. I never ever move my pieces in uspring except for origins and firepoints. In addition to the approximate center origin function some sort of approximate center origin at min/max X/Y/Z would be really neat too :)

Before exporting I place the cursor at the desired origin for the piece, hit Centre Cursor and alt-G to move that origin to the world origin which the obj exporter uses. Then I move everything back in place after importing into Upspring.
