So, does anyone know of a program that can make decent skyboxes? Terragen just dosn't do them that well. or I can figure out how to do them that good. Bryce messes them up if the camera isnt at an angle, and I don't know of any after that. Does anyone here?

I juse photoshop in combination with this neat skybox tool I found on the ATI site. I forget what it's called, try searching ati.com for skybox... Anyway it does a real good job of blending stuff together and making it look like a sphere rather than a box.

I have Cubemapgen. But it dosnt make the actual skybox, it just compiles them into a DDS.

No no no. Im talking about making the ACTUAL skybox, as in the clouds, the sky, the 6 images you have to put together.

Impossible. You have to do that manually. It's like asking for a texture generator for models.

Cubemapgen only assembles the images and can export individual faces as images.

Avoid using Objects in your Skybox that are expected to move fast, or at least move. Frozzen in Time Skybox, are irritating - also more beautiful ...
Take a 3 Programm, modell the Scenery, insert six Cameras, every one Watching into another direction (up, down, nort, south, west, east) - Give every Camera an Angle, that doesen`t Overlap with the Other Camerangles, and doesen`t leave free space. Modell a Decent Scenery around it. Use Photoshop to perfect it. Avoid Objects to close to the Camera.. And don`t forget that the Place Below - will be really near - top down, to the Player.. So make the Soldiers there greater...
In PS take the First Picture into a greater Canvas, insert all surrounding Pictures so that they fit to there Border.. PS the Borders away, and take the changed Borders into the Original Pictures. Add Fire and Effects only in Photoshop.

I draw it by Hand with Yilith - and failed. It is just the Perspective that messes it. It can work Handrawn if you avoid anyhting more then Clouds Planets, Moons and so on. But even there... i do remember that some Planets on Geysir Plains have strange Shadows...

Use a 3d rendering program, it is the only true way...

mufdvr, Thank you for making the only useful post in this thread.
EDIT: Actually no, sorry. That site has their skyboxes in the form of panoramas, which use 5 images. Spring wants 6 for its skyboxes.
EDIT: No Im stupid, that was just one. Thanks.
EDIT: It has some weird messeage that pops up whenever I right click. Its really fucking annoying, does anyone know what its saying? I know little french.
Yet another EDIT, lol:
http://www.3delyvisions.com/skf1.htm Another site With decent free skyboxes.

The message would be to indicate that the right click interface is disabled, or something to that effect.
