Wow. At least they GAVE good reasons why they did it. But Corruption seems to be everywhere no matter what. Last night On BBC1, There was a prgram about corruption and bribes in football. But no one cares, Football sucks anyways.

This bothers me....
In launching Thailand's first coup in 15 years, Sondhi said on nationwide television that the overthrow was needed "in order to resolve the conflict and bring back normalcy and harmony among people."

"I am the one who decided to stage the coup. No one supported me," he said.

Sondhi, 59, known to be close to the king, is a Muslim in a Buddhist-dominated nation.

the point is that a Muslim in a Buddhist nation (in other words, someone who may not have the people's best viwes in mind), is HOSTALLY taking over via coup...

I also seem to remember that there is a extremest sect of Muslims who seem to think that every nonmuslim must either convert or be killed in some kind of firey death type thing.

I have the opinion that every relligion go's through that phase once and a while. The 'kill that which is different' phase, like the Spanish Inquisition or the Crusades or something.

The only relligions that DON'T do this that I've noticed are Buddisem and Atheisem.

But I could be wrong with Atheisem.

I don't think so but even if athiests did do that, it's just a phase.

I think we could count Stalin as a fanatic killing for atheism...

I think that saying that for athiesm isn't quite the same as other religions. Atheist beliefs are a tad simpler than most religions and don't extend into the moral realm. For that you'd have to look at the moral philosophy of the atheist you're talking about.

/Edit/ Also he has set a fairly prompt timetable for the restoration of democracy, I don't see any reason to get alarmed about him being a minority just yet.

IIRC.. athiests arent really united.. nor do they meet somewhere.. nor do they really identify themselves with other athiests.. its sorta an anti religion..

I'm not sure "anti-religion" is as fitting as "lack of religion," which is a different idea altogether and is disturbingly (to me) hard for people in general to understand.
