Beware cheaters!

Recently people have been playing allot of no metal games. However people have started cheating. Reclaiming the commander was cheaky enough but now there's a real cheat.
- actual cheat removed - mod -
I have seen this cheat used by [tN]Dem0 in an entirely non metal extractor game to get nukes very quickly and nuke the enemy before they've even got AA let alone ANuke.

I know it's a bug and has been reported in one form, however by the time you've built a gantry it doesn't really matter. But people using them to ruin games is unacceptable. Also you don't need cheats to do it, just something to reclaim and something like a pweewee, that's explaining how to prove it works, to prove that you actually get the metal from reclaiming and not that it just blows up.
Also, if a cheat doesn't become a problem, because a few experienced players try to keep it a secret BECAUSE THEY DON'T WANT IT TO BE FIXED then it's less likely to be fixed. Besides, I'm not reporting it for people do to it, it's important that people can tell if their opponant is cheating or not and to know what they are up against.

you dont need to prove something works when its been reported, fixed and were waiting for it in the next version of spring.

What if someone cheats, and I accuse them, no one is going to believe me if they don't know that the bug I'm talking about actually exists.

but if you hadnt told them they wouldnt know and thus wouldnt have done it.

Errr how do you think I found out? I saw an ally doing it. Actually I already knew about the gantry cheat. However seeing someone using a varient of it and cutting short a game that would have otherwise been quite decent game pissed me off so I d-guned his nuke silo. Then I got kicked because the host didn't know he was cheating. Then the replay fails and he says it wasn't a bug when it damn well was, I reproduced it to make sure that he would have actually gotten the metal from the reclaim. So now I'm banned from jj's server because apparently the reclaim cheat doesn't exist.

Look the point I'm trying to make is that people should be more open with cheats. There are people always claiming to know cheats but never reveal. This is bad. I don't want to cheat, but I want to be able to know when my enemies or allies are cheating. This includes getting free metal, using fps mode to fly a plane out side the map and out of aa range, and lots I have heard of but no one will tell me how they are done and I can't find on the bug track, like what the hell is the aa cheat, and what's the hoverring lab cheat that purportedly allows you to see what the enemy is doing. I think this OMG YOU REVEALED A CHEAT panic stricken hysteria you keep falling into is bad for spring. I not only want to know if my enemy is cheating but I want to know if I cheat by accident and to avid it. For exaple there's the invincible building bug. If I didn't know that I could end up with invincible buildings by accident and an unfair advantage.

How does PMing a dev help if they already know about it? I'm more concerned about people using bugs on purpose to obtain an unfair advantage without their opponant even having a clue. It's important that the players should be aware of these things. There's also probably bugs that people arn't even reporting because of the obvious advantage of esoterical knowledge. The way I see it, if I know a cheat I'm going to tell people. Accidentally using a bug is one thing you can maybe have a laugh about even but using one on purpose to pervert a game is just wrong. At least if people know what cheats there are then they will know what to look for and recognise who to ban in future if they see cheating occuring.

How bluntly shall I put this? Continue posting cheats, and you will find yourself unable to post at all.

For people who read the exploit or currently know what it is, I'm going to add here that if you are caught doing it in a public game from this point forward you will be banned from lobby until the release of the patch that fixes it. You are trusted with information that is considered private and exploitation of that information will force us to remove you because you cannot be trusted.
Thank you very much.
