I love TA, and and love Spring because this
Ive done the Core Leviathan battlesub finally launch their missiles.Originally Cavedog planned it, and the original model turn to life with doors and missile containers.
Now,that Ive found the way, I will finish my two SBLM subs to complete my mod.
The link for the small GIF "movie" is....

Yes, no trouble.
XTA is great!
and
...errrrrrrrr.......Talking about XTA, I need to confess that some features of this mod were "copied" by my enormous staff to complete the TA-BattleFleet mod

The plasma guns and High lasers turrets for example, but dont think in porcupine your defenses, as you still not see what are going

you cant truely launch stuff from underwater whatever part that is firing still has to be moved above water before the weapon fires...

Exactly, but surface weapons DONT aim nor hit the sub in SPRING, au contraire of TA......eerrrrrrrr.

...of course a little syntax  trick was utilized
In the TAUniverse thread I put a snapshot of destroyers only launching depth charges
For years a group of people done enhancements in TA
gameplay, models, scripts and all that would be possible,
AND more than possible with this hardcoded brilliant
game. Spring ,IMHO, is easiest to work a mod than TA, but
like this early game, needs ever the desire to surpasse
frontiers that exists. This, in resume, is the main reason of
the TA community still be alive, fighting for the Holy
Grails of a perfect RTS, and there was where the SPRING born,
giving , as the proper name suggests, a reborn, for Total A
nnihilation AND other mods made by people that ever not are
satisfied with normal things, going ever to the better ones.
IMHO, both communities need more dialog and colaboration.

Couldn't you like.. umm, share the little syntax trick you used, so everyone could benefit too, and stuff?

+1
I'll take a script hack over not having functionality at all any day of the week. Nice work, I'd say.

of course the sub still cant be targeted, no matter where you move the model the actual hit box remains in the same spot..
You could have the sub surface and fire a deck gun at people and not have an return fire..

Am I the only one who had an invincible untargetable waterwalking Jesus in mind? :)
And how did you do that? Did you move the aimpoint above the surface? On a sidenote, it's somewhat unbelievable to see a missile launch from underwater. It's like lighting a candle at the bottom of the ocean

really rattle, its unbelievable that missiles.. could be launched from underwater...
I mean really..
The TRIDENT C-4 is a long-range, multiple-warhead missile that is launched from submerged submarines.

Play EE, the nuke sub surfaces, fires a missle, goes back underwater.

Also yes it is done by moving the fir/aim point above the water in some manner.. this is how I did it..
here is the sub underwater^^
here is the sub surfaced and firing ^^

Okay okay I don't have a clue. Just thought the water would prevent the missile from igniting the fuel or something...

Oh man, my Navy buddy actually got to see one of those things launch, up close. Amazing video.
And sorry, I didn't realize EE had this already... guess I should be getting a new version...

EE has had that since it was released...

nobody knows because water battles are so neglected in Spring
[edit]so can someone tell me what VonGratz has done that wasn't already achieved by Fang's submarines ages ago?[/edit]

My thoughts exactly. Water battles in E&E are not very common as we only have so many players and most of our games are nice team land games. Water battles in AA are merely one player getting out of the water, possibly with a Comm, and the other using the water to attack land over the first's shattered fleet.

Not!
This happened only to the first version of the Leviathan emerging to fire missiles "a la (TA)TLL".Its due the all jammer kit that the olde subs
must to had to avoid enemy targeting. This sub NOT have any jamming device
I promise I will reveal this "great secret" after some suspense, of course, because after being discovered, the thing is ridiculously easy.
But before, I need to include still better effects when the missile virtually "cross" the interface - some kind of water explo.
A hint...Im cheating SPRING...

P.S. Fanger, Your sub models are cool

I might want to put that in AA, actually... Leviathan has a strange role I don't really want to exist, but it's a cavedog unit and I generally don't delete those.
