Game time

As one of the seemingly ever dwindling number of XTA players, i sometimes log on to see friends all in a game, and as i dont know how long they have been in the game (and often people dont alt tab to answer pm) i dont know wether it is worth waiting for them. Could the lobby display the time a game starts? could be pretty cool to have anyway...

While I certainly don't see the XTA players dwindling in number, quite perversely they seem to never change at all...
This is a great idea. Is there any way to stream that element of the code to the lobby?

Somehow doesnt seem like the right word?
XTA players have been dwindling majorly, when I started almost a year ago, there were a considerable amount more xta games than now.

It is the right word, from my view, as I really don't enjoy XTA - no offense to everybody who plays, but I started with that mod, and when I got another one I found no reason to turn back.
It is still the second most played mod. Anyway, this isn't the point of the thread - we are asking about ingame time listings in the lobby.

from past experience i think streaming thing from games has been seen as a problem. i think it was brought up in the broadcasting matches thread we had.

Why is streaming required? Couldn't the lobby just detect when the game starts (Which it does already), and start a clock? Then just end it when it finishes.

Hmm... this already works with the Altaric client... that I and Liche use for our servers... if you pm !gameinfo to the server... it will respond with the time... don't know if it's in-game time, or real time though...

i didnt suggest streaming: simply the time the game started, the human mind can pretty easily do the rest
