Spring RTS Engine

Were all very excellent contributors.. They were great at what they did, and were very helpful. Soon, we will be a lot of idiots rambling around, with no skills or ideas whatsoever if all of the experienced veterans leave..

Some of us here need to the grow the hell up! Stop being such pricks. First, Smoth, he was one of the first people who helped me get moving, and he was gone so soon... Then AF, the King/Lord of Cookies, he invented many patches, and helped with a lot of things...

Who next shall we kick out? Argh? Lathan? Anybody who has skills superior to the average forum goer??

AF is around again, though he's mainly focussing on the whole NTAI-bundled-with-Spring debacle right now.

Also Smoth is still riding through once and a while. Not posting, see. He still makes mods, and helps fang, and in general does cool things. Just...from afar, like some kind of Masked Avenger.

I have been close to leaving for some time now, however I stick around just to piss off the people that want me gone. It's working too

well they might just leave this forums, but they never leave spring! Its in their blood!!

Maybee it is the Combination of Competition with other Mod-Makers, Over Expectation by the Forum - maybee we also expect to much of the Communications wise. Moders and Programmers usual join Forums, when there work is stuck and they need to get there heads free. Maybee we use the wrong scale, when complaing about them like on some usual noob "flamethrower".

Sorry if i ever , by accident, provoked AF - i really like his AI and i don`t want anybody to leave.

AF was anything but nice.
I also had the feeling that he thinks he can also outvalue some of the existing Spring dev. Team members.
Did you also regonize, that he did not support the current lobby system? He doesn't have real own ideas, he just recreates and "tries" to improve. - In a bad way.
and crappy code is the result.

AF has had problems with basically all developers, including AI at some point. I think that says a lot already.

SinbadEV: Not really a good argument here, look at AFs posts at teh sekrit forum. AF has been actively running his "devs are evil" campaign.
We didn't actually ban him either.

Did this "Campaign" had any results ? Was the Trouble really that worse that it overcame the worth of his work ?
Sorry if i missed something. It is just hard for an outsider to understand the difference between a "Campaign" and the usual "Your-Code-also-sucks-you-Forumbots" attitude of a overworked Programmer. I will try the search Button for AFs last Posts... here. Can you give me the link for the Sekrit Forum Post ?

IMHO, I think he's just a little out of touch. He's also very young and has all the attributes associated with youth, including making rash deicisions. Don't blame him for being a kid, and don't carry a grudge forever. He believes he's doing the right thing, which nobody can fault.

He may come back at some point, having learned a little more about maturity. If he's instantly just remembered as "that jerk" rather than for his very real contributions, regardless of their form, he won't be of a mind to help.

I hate to see anyone leave who can potentially help improve our project. His behaviour and his coding were imperfect, but we are all imperfect. He will improve with time, as we all do.

Swiftspear is high ranking - oh man i just alway thought him to be "just" an very nice "down to earth" Veteran Moderator- and now he is all of the sudden high priest of the Devs.......

Seems like AF has burdend himself to much on his young shoulders and got crushed under the Mountains he would move. Hope he will return one day more happy and with a New AI. Until Then AF - Good luck.

SwiftSpear is not a dev, I don't think. He's a highly respected, very senior forum member and probably the head moderator.

Yeah, swiftspear aint a dev.


I respect him a shitload though.
