Random Quittage

It just... happens. Sometimes. Never was a big issue before, but now its become a bigger one (with same Spring build!) O_o
Hapened on a Comet Catcher game, AA 2.11, with PRO_Emaciator and myself both quitting at same times. Only similarity was we both had GeForce processors o_O
I had 2.8 ghz pentium, he had 1.0 ghz with 256 megs of RAM; i had 512 megs of RAM on Geforce GFX 5200; he had Geforce 2.... No crash, no BSOD, just clean quit.
The other three people stayed in the game though...

Guys keep on the dam subjects for christ sake, its a bug report not a discussion about graphics cards.
I too have this problem and no idea how to find out what cuases it.

Do any of the developers have any idea what could be causing this? It's really obnoxious... I'd estimate that 30% of my recent games have been ruined by this "random exit" bug. And even in the games where I my own client doens't randomly exit, it's almost inevitable that it'll happen to one or more of the other players.

Everyone who has this problem please post system specs. The only way we'll be able to verify if it's hardware related is through comparisons.

I used to have this problem back when I used a Gforce 2. its ONLY JUST able to handle spring. I remember SJ giving me a LOT of incredulity about the fact I could run it (Back on the first beta, where they weren't sure of the limits of what it could do.... I was the ONLY person with such a low spec system who tried to play...)

This "random exit" bug appends quite often to me, i'd estimate it to about 50% of my games.
I play alone, against AAI, on smalldivide and with xtape or starwars.
I run a linux distro (kubuntu) on a latitude dell d810 with a ATI RADEON MOBILITY x600.

Pentium 4, Geforce 6800GT.
When I've had this bug as server, the other players are left in the game (albeit frozen up), so it's obviously an abnormal exit (when the server quites normally, all other players are dropped back to the lobby too).

Any ATI users with random crashes?

There have been some in the other threads. It may very well be a software issue. Ewww.

Is there anyone with an AMD having these problems?

Bugs are part of the cause. I've noticed a tendency for spring to run better now I've patched my ETA groupAI. It's mostly connection issues and bugs I know are fixed in the svn that plague me now.

Hmmm. Question - what AI's are you guys using? Despite the fact that I was using the LATEST version of NTai, it was still crashing.
I switched to AAI and I havent had a crash since - although a not-so-small and very irritating problem is that AAI doesnt support Spring Gundam.
