Could you make it possible to create a 32x32 Texture and lay it on a 16x16 Map. And by the Way- if it was possible to add (in Degrees) Reflections to the Texture - that would be really Great, for Ice and Crystallmaps.

And... i almost forgot - can you add moving Cloudshadows to the Landscape...

FROM ("what I understand"); The new map format supports this feature.

Not quite the same way though. The new format is splatted iirc, so you can have a high def texture over the different areas.

From what I hear you can have a high res texture "tiled" over the whole map, so if you texture is "tiled" at a 2:1 ratio, it will squish the oversized texture down to fit over the whole map.

sinbad, the problem with that is his map is one giant texture, odds are bigger then nvidia or ATI can handle. I am not sure what would happen if on tried to use a tile that big. Bear in mind that even the current format breaks large images into tiles which are much easier to manage.
