err... so a processor chip maker and a graphics chip maker are merging? hopefully us ATI users will get real drivers now...

I hope this means that we will be able to get ATI AMD chipsets now, which will probably mean better performance for a lower price.

I wonder if AMD will keep the ATI brand name or change it in the future to something more AMD'ish.
