Setting status to "away" 100% of the time

Ever used MSN? It's a very handy gadget, oh yes, most certainly. It has one flaw, however: if you don't want to talk to someone, and they want to talk to you... you have only two options:

1) Block them
2) Don't reply

In normal circumstances, either of these works. However, what if there are people you want to be polite to and not offend? Well sir, then you have come to the right place. The trick to dealing with these people is simply setting your status to "Away" 100% of the time. Never, ever set it to Online. The people will assume that you're just a terribly busy person with too many things on the go. No need to block them - just don't say anything. Works beautifully.

That's how I do it, but because of lazyness and not trying not to be bothered.

I propose number 3: Set your status to appear offline. Then they will just think you don't even have time to use a computer anymore. Or died...

Yes, but then you can't communicate with anyone over MSN.

Your point has declared victory. Mine is no longer living to concede defeat.

Or you block them. It will have the same effect as the appear offline-thing. They would think you are dead or whatever.

Or, even better, change MSN adress and only tell the contacts you actually want about it.

Do they get a message when they get blocked by someone though?

Arrgghhh nobody talks to me on msn because they presume I'm too busy to talk and then they ait untill they fnally decide to start talking all at once when I am busy.

Or you cn set msn to let you talk while appearing offlien so you start the conos you want when you want them and not vice versa
