Gradual reclaim

Would it be possible to change the current reclaim system so that you reclaim a small % of the corpse every tick? As it is, it seems a little silly, especially when reclaiming 'big' corpses like BB, cmdr, fusion etc. I can't really see a massive gameplay issue, though obviously it would change the game a little. If not, maybe a % or similar to show the reclaim progress, as currently it annoys me a little that you have no idea how long reclaiming something (especially big things like BB, fusion, cmdr etc) will take.

It would also fix the bug concerning multiple reclaimers, allowing us to disable the hack that forces it so it only reclaims with one builder.

perhaps a system where you get 1/4 -> 1/2 -> 3/4 -> whole wreckage value would work. some reward for beeing able to hold the terittory

You mean like a % of complete recleamtion meter or something?
Sounds cool, prbly implented when the rest of the % meters acully work

AFs ETA AI tells you how long a building/unit will take to complete in seconds...

And how long till a unti reaches its destination, or a unit on an attack order gets into weapons range of the target, or when a unit doesnt have the energy to fire its primary weapon, as logn as ETA till the builder is within build range of the construction site.

I hate to say it, but the ETA AI (the common element) has caused me to crash on a few occasions - usually towards the end of a game when ordering berthas to attack atrgets that would cause them to turn significant angles...
I think it could be implemented like the little red % bars are already done for nuke/antinuke missiles within the launchers etc...

This isn't just about progress bars, it's about gradual gain of ressources while reclaiming features. So when a eature takes 30 seconds to reclaim and you chew on it for 3 you've got 10% of its ressource value in the process.

this would be a nice ADDITION. as long as it doesn't REPLACE the current system its fine. now wheres that 'MAKE A PATCH' JPG...

it's not too extreme provided it's still reclaimable only in largish % chunks

I'd say mod tag "reclaimsteps" which defines how many steps there are per reclaim process. Could also be set per-feature.

I would like mod authors' input please - I'm close to being able to compile sprin gon my machine and this would make a nice 'first project' for me I think. Also, input from Spring devs would be good

Just do it, and add a resource storage tag for units too, and some way to drop it off.
