Is it possible to have a unit turn into a different unit once its gotten enough XP? if not, say so and delete the thred. If yes, then I will be happy.

I dunno, but I WILL find a way to make my units evolve with more exp...

It ain't fair damnit, veterans will earn strength

I had a AA mutator Idea one time,

Peewee - Normal

Peewee Mk II - Dual Gatlings instead of EMG's

Peewee X - Added missile launchers to his shoulders

Awesome Idea huh?

Something similar will be in my mod, FOR SURE!

Well I was thinking of makeing a mod, and If this IS possible then ONE side will be possible, if not then I will have to make up some other side to fill that void. Witch would be annoying.

I was thinking Aliens and Robots, two of my races could "evolve" as more exp was gained

Aliens could get larger/more weapons, robots could get more efficient forms, the robots are self-centered, an "evolved" robot could hold more missiles per burst :P more efficient

Humans wouldn't evolve but get more weapon aim/ROF/ movement better

Hehe, me want much :P

Up, double post, if you or someone came back i didn't want you to miss it....

I have an idea for the fourth race ALL level 1 units, with extraordinary evolution capabilities, so each unit NEEDS to last a game :P

Well, assuming get VETERAN_LEVEL works, you could "evolve" units, yes. You couldn't change their name or anything like that, and you could only (artificially) increase their health once through the damagemodifier, but you could unjam weapons and hide/unhide pieces and stuff as you like. To jam a weapon, just have it return FALSE in AimWeaponX until the condition is met.

Now to beg like a dog for a bone for the developers (or if i can already) to be able to add more level types

This is awesome, everybody should make more mods with this kinda stuff in it!

THANK YOU!!!!!!

Hmmm...

So, Gnome, you could have the unit with a lode of weapons, then jam all but one. Then as it gains levels, the weapons unjam one by one untill it has a plethoria of guns. Is that what you were getting at?

And by hide and unhide pice's you mean you can make bits of the 3d modle of the unit appeare and dissapeare. If it seems like I'm slow, its because I am very very new at this.

Hurrah! I will so make my army men grow, average soldiers rifle at level 1 will get a 'nade launcher

Snipers will get a long scope and better equipment and this is so badass....

WTF IS WRONG WITH VIDEO GAMES THESE DAYS!

I have never seen a game close to the full fricking capacity of moddability and changeability as in TA Spring, I have to hand it to the devs,

YOU ROCK!!!!

THANKS YOU!!!!!

I might even have some stuff happen to my model in my mod topic :P

Sheesh, it is going to be awesome to have units change appearance and all.... o.0

Another question, could we "upgrade" a unit, to have it unlock mobile weapon systems and stuff?

what about size increases? Would it actually be possible to make something scale up as it gained experience (and thus HP) so you could end up with something that looks big as well as having lots of guns?

Posted: 14 Jul 2006, 09:23
by Gnomre
Yes, but only by having multiple copies of the unit and then doing massive amounts of hiding/showing. There's no way to physically scale the model yet.

Like, buying the weapons kinda, but making the unit unlock his weapons :P

I dunno, exp is always good too...
