Is there a way to disable Mousepoint Zooming?

Well... what the topic says I guess. It just feels awkward for me being used to standard mouse style zooming, I don't like having to constantly readjust my camera to stay in the same place if I start tinkering with my zoom level, especially as I rather often switch zoom levels.

I like it better, personally... but then again, I'm quite used to it in 3D editors...

I heard if you change to the rotating camera view (which is the same, if you don't rotate...) then it still has the old style zoom.

I haven't tested this though (I love the new zoom.)

Trust me, youll get used to the new zoomstyle in no time.

what I acctually miss (from playing to much GalCiv2 and B&W) is the click drag movement... I know it's never had it but I keep trying to do it impulsively.

Use the middle mouse button, only you have to ivnert the axis I think for that, but it lets you drag the mouse....

yeah... I acctually use that feature a lot more now that I figured it out... but it's not exactly the same... what I want is to "pull" the landscape to where I want it... oh... and sorry for going off topic here... I think it should be an option with the mouse zooming an all too.

Unfortunately the Rotating Camera View doesn't quite work the same as the old zoom, while I certainly see that some may like the new zoom... it still feels quite awkward.

As far as I can tell there doesn't seem to be any option to go back to the old style, either. o_O;

Just use the new style, it really is better once you get used to it.

It'd be nice if it zoomed and looked at where you pointed instead of exactly over so you can't actually see what you zoomed into.

I just don't like suddenly being forced to use a diffirent zooming style when I had no problems with the first one, regardless of if the new one is better or not. I certainly have no problems with there being an option to use the new one perhaps, but as-is there isn't a choice as to which style you want to use.
