As a moderator, you should know that if you don't have anything to contribute to a discussion, it would be better simply not to post.
I'm not quite sure what you're trying to prove by spamming "somebody make a patch" in every development-related thread, but it's mildly annoying, and more importantly, does not substantiatively add to the discussion.

People post patches because they're motivated to, and repatedly saying make a patch has the opposite effect.
A lot fo patches where submitted for peoples own reasons not the forum goers demanding patches, and mainyl because the specific coder had an sisue to solve ro wanted extra stuff, nto ebcause the forum goers complained about the problem.

I like it, he clearly shows people that if they want something changed, they should write a patch and not throw every little bit they can think of on the forum.

How long is the line: "go make it yourself if you want it"(or something equal) being used on this community? "write us a patch" is just the same. As jc said, it shows the way that YOU could do it/ not ask someone else to do it for you.

Yes, but it doesn't need to be repeated in every thread.
If anything, put it in a sticky or something.
As for why I don't make a patch with whatever? I've been studying C++ on my own time so that I can contribute to Spring, but I can't make head or tail of any of the Spring code I've read.

There is a sticky every part of the forum, and still people don't read them. like Readmes which couse Caydr to go nuts over silly questions. (Though a sticky saying: "Make us a Patch" will be quite a laugh)
Noize noticed that things doesn't go automaticly, and you have to shout en rules in the ear of every person who needs them. This is kinda the same thing. Though for most people it is becomming somewhat an unnessisairy addon to the topic.

Sadly, many people will agree with you on this. I vaen't even bothered myself.
(I contribute on an other area. And I didn't whine for features that must be put in spring)
