*** END OF EDIT ***
Hello!!
Due to popular request from many people on the TASClient I have released an alternative version of my "A Football field?!" map with NORMAL metal spots. :)
http://www.megapyxel.ath.cx/A_Football_ ... Metal].sd7
This version has 6 metal patches on each the platform, each giving 2 metal each and then another 6 on the pitch.
There are also 2 large, more 'intense' metal 'splodges' at the penalty spots and then 1 even bigger splodge in the centre of the pitch (think 'king of the hill' - but without the hill...)
Hope people enjoy this one as much as the other one :p
Jonny C. :)
.p.s.
the original version of this map is disscussed at this thread:

Hold center maps don't work. It means the team that hokds it has more metal, And therefore, Can't lose. Oh well. Good try all the same. Altraic made a good metla map layout. If only I could remeber where it is...

Ok, this is just stupid. My first versino of this map DIDN'T have a central focal point with metal. But people went on about how i needed to put a 'goal' in the middle to draw people away from the center point. It's meant to be a 'war' for the centre point. And anyway, you don't NEED metal to win. I can just build some fusions and a metal maker and do just as well :p. And the person that takes the center first deserves to win :p.
Also, if you had actully read what i said. I have lots of screen shots of the map on the other thread. but if you REALLY want me to copy the links here ya go.

okay KlavoHunter, what you (and I) call soccer, the rest of the world calls football. What we call football, the rest of the world calls American Football.

Ok, please don't hurl insulting comments. I am not a novice map editor I've been creating maps for OTA for a long time. I did say this was a NOVELTY map but besides the point; If you actually play the map, you'll find the centre point only has about 30% more metal than the pentaly spots. So even with the centre spot, you only get a little bit more metal. I bet i could still kick your ass on this map even if i let you start at the centre point :p.

Sorry if that was a little blunt. but I did just spend 2 hours modifying the map simply as a favor for people who were begging me to do so. :)

In spring, you are a novice map maker. Taking the middle should never gaurantee the win.
Kick my ass? Heh, ok. What mod? AA or EE would be the ones I am most familiar with.

The only diffrence between making maps for OTA and Spring is the tools used to make them and as your comment refers to the 'structure' of the map not the 'pretty-ness' then there are no reasons why my skills at making excelently structured OTA maps cannot be carried accross into making Spring maps.
Also, as i've said before. The centre of the map does NOT ensure victory it mearly encourages the people on the platforms to spread out.
As for playing Spring, I'm currently working on my next map so i'm not in the mood for a full days worth of ass whooping

. lol
Jonny C.
p.s. have you actually TRIED this map yet?

Ha ha, i only just got your message once i posted my retaliation. Never mind :p.
Er, why is it looking for the map in a 'demos' folder?? And i'm not familiar with "SP" what kind of mod is that ??...
p.s. Ooooo, i see your running Vista

I was gonna try and install that at some point. I've downloaded 'n burnt it to a DVD but i can't decide which of my PC's to destroy by sticking vista on and wiping the disk.
Can you tell me if you've been able to do a duel-boot with vista and XP or does it force you to format like I read somwhere?...

Nah, havn't tried it. Havn't had time. I was only going after your comment that whoever rushes the center of the map should win. Myself and most other people on this forum agree on this.
BTW if you really wanna "Kick my ass" on your map with me starting in the center I'll be happy to help you
Note for the future, don't say stuff like that unless you are able/intend to back it up. There is no need for those kind of comments unless you ahve something to prove.
But meh, what do I know. I've only made a pidly 25 spring maps

Ok, I admit. I made a mistake with my wording making the centre spot seem a little better than it actually is. If you do get chance to play it, You'll see its not as 'wonderfull' as i made it out to be. Its just a little extra metal to entice you to get build away from your main base.
Sorry for being 'confrontational'. lol
I'll have a look out for some of your maps :)
