how are any of those logos, they r more poster art rather then logo. logos need to be a small simple shape, like quake3 logo, or hl logo.

So, could someone point me in the exact direction where it says that TA SPRING and SPRING are going to be seperate things?

Technically, we should just wait for a logo request thread to happen in the art forum, because as we've seen the SY completely ignore all art threads not started by them.

Maybe for a reason?

I still think the moose should be included in the spring logo somehow, its such a great icon

Actually the SY's have repatedly stated that TA is a MOD for spring and that the TA and spring are not the same thing. They even stated specifically when they asked for a logo that it be spring and not TASpring.


EDIT:: As for not being recognised and put in the art forum by the SY's I say that is becaue the state of the spring logo is a paltry fiasco that is in tatters. The marketting image for spring is incomplete and a lot of people have just focused on the logo. What has happened here is it has stagnated and now the only things left that are decent at least are aGorms and Neuralizes logos and the variations people have made on them. Any attempts to organise or get this moving by me have been met with flames and Neuralizes comments on me apparently being a control freak and trying to take charge. Untill you lot start taking this more seriously and start thinking of the whole picture the SY's are going to keep this way and wont take any interests in the sector of the project that is ruled by arrogance pride and grudges. I might aswell go off and come back with a theme, including logo adverts and art work and wether you like it or not it will be the onyl fully fleged offering to choose from! Maybe then you'll pull together and try to organize yourselves

Fine I will clear this all up.

Befor the Big PHPBB Bang, The SY's did start a thred call "SPRING LOGO". They even stated what they wanted. That or AF started it and the SY comented that it was a good idea and made sugestions on what was wanted.
Yes... They wanted a simple Logo. They also wanted a cool heavy graphical version more which was like the logo only differnt. An example is how mine have explosions for the high graphic ones and then just plane pop art in BandW for the actull logos.

TA SPRING and SPRING are differnt.

This is becasue as the SY's have said previosly at the moment it just supports TA units so it has somthing to play with.

They plan on making it a 3D RTS engin called spring... NOT a 3D version of TA. The fact at the mo it uses TA is because thats the game they are using as they already know so much about it.

This means that SPIRNG needs a logo that all games made with spring can bare.

TA spring will need a logo which might just possibly include the Spring logo, or somthing like it, but it is differnt becasue the two are differnt things.

When they first asked they made it clear they wanted a SPRING logo not a TA SPRING logo, hence why my first logos said TA SPRING and then they just switched to spring.

And no, I'm not officialy running this but the way I see It, nither is anyone else, and atleast i know what the SY's wanted. So if anyone goes "who gave you the right to... blar blar blar..." the answer is no-one and nothing. (except possibly my post count...)

Just to clarifiy here aswell, yes It would be great if someone could come up with somthing as good as the HalfLife logo for Spring, but on the other hand, ever noticed how often the logo is infact part of an ammazingly pretty picture? Of for instance Gordan Freeman? So Whats wanted is a bit of both. (IE a simple logo and also ideas on the cool graphics side)

On the contrary I claimed that position a week ago aGorm and tho I will share ti with you I think that the problem here is that the onyl people who would eb bothered organising and doing stuff other than simply showing off new logo ideas would be us two and maybe Neuralize if he wants to compete

I don't think there will be a "TA SPRING" per say, just Spring with some high polygon units that happen to look like those in the game Total Annihilation. >.>

Yes... but it will be called TA spring just that TA wont stand for Total Annialation (bad spelling), though it will in our hearts.

Thats a pretty awesome one aGorm, it would be cool if we could have the moose siluetted against the explosion holding a rpg over his/her shoulder rather than just slouching there.
