I have gmax, wings3d, nendo, milkshape 3d trial, and some other stuff.

The easiest thing for ME to do is make a .dxf in Hammer (Half-Life/Half-Life 2's map editor), and import it to gmax. Unfortunately, I can't export it or save it as anything useful.

Wings3d is weird for me, I can't get the hang of the tool.
Milkshape I've been using mostly for a converter (it crashes when trying to import the .dxf or I would've done this already)
Nendo doesn't seem to be able to help either.

Any suggestions? Plugins to export to something useful with gmax?

The thing about wings is I can't/don't know how to use the camera. If I can at all.

I don't know how to find/interpret/use coordinates from the pieces I'm using to not need the camera.

The manual/help menu tell you these things but to rotate you depress the middle mouse button and to move around is toggled by q

I use "a" to aim the camera at the currently selected piece.. usually what you want to do anyways.

I don't think modelling is for me. I've got the ideas/concept, I just can't mold it with the tools..

I got into upspring.. somehow, miraculously.

I set up a hierarchy (my 'unit' was a new rocket tower to replace the Arm or Core Def/Pulv).

Maybe another bout of inspiration will hit and I'll try again. :?

:edit: what got me most was the confusing bit of UV mapping, texture building, alpha channels, etc.
I have GIMP, but I really don't know how to use it to its extent and I really only learn when I need something done.

If someone wants to take it and use it, go for it. I could probably drum up more. :P

That's even harder for me. I can't draw and I can't use any of the PS/GIMP stuff. :|
