I've been playing and I've come up with this equation:

Total Annihilation + WarCraft 3 + Warhammer 40k = Dawn of War

from now on, along with all of the other things I whine about I will want features to allow Spring to be Like DoW.

DOW's squad replinishment mechanic was one of the most idiotic things that I have ever seen.

you mean the part where I can build more units while in the middle of a fight? that's my favorite part!

mine too! Its something that makes it different from other games and a lot more strategicaly. You have small groups of soldiers with some kind of leader acting like one unit.. thats just cool.
I also LOVE the animations of the melee units - just awesome and that beats all other RTSs atm.
Unfortunately the lobby is just poor and a bit buggish (i want an automapdownloader).

TA Spring can never have the detail of Dawn of War .. thats why unit limit in Dawn of War is 20-30 points.

but that 30 points represented up to 330 ubits because of squad sizes.

no about 90-130 but that's still much you're right :)

yeah, I think it looks stupid having troops teleport into battle. If you could teleport them from the begining why the hell do you ever need to move them as a squad? Why not just teleport into the enemy base like you do with your troop replenishment?

Why do buldings drop from the skys? Why do Space Marines shoot minimissles? Cause its cool.

Its ment to feel like warjammer 40k right??? And thats what it does! Even better is it doent use the warhammer rules (which would have suxed) it just uses the ideas behind them. I think its a good fun game. I even multi with my mates ocasionly.

Or the Drednaughts grabbing and ork, crushing them in their hand, then flaming it with the under hand mounted flame thrower. Then throwing the crushed, mangled, burnt and crispy corpse off the battlefeild. Ah yes...good times...good times.

The 40k universe will, thankfully, always be one of the most gruesome and distubing places ever to go gaming, reading, or modeling.

DoW is quite awesome though i have had trouble with it as of late. the game slows down to a chug after it loads up. i mean ingame not on a menu. also the textures seem to off on certain units.

I still need to play DoW, though I'm sure it will be a letdown after years of losing table-top games with my scrap-heap Space Marine army.

Because it is in the fluff? I don't know. Units teleporting into the squads is a very ugly looking thing. Also don't get me started on the eldar tanks shooting each other too often.
