Ahoy, just finished my first ever video, its two and a half minutes long with part of teh TA soundtrack. Ummm Spring Showcase is the first name that popped into my head i know its a bit crappy :P

I've also rendred a slightly diffrent version featuring Newcastle Brown Ale, but i've not bothred uploading it as i think only people in the U.K. would understand it, or perhaps those who know Steve. :P

Soo.. yes umm, a little video i made, i think it could have been alot worse considering i didn't really have a clue what i was doing, so go easy on me!

Its pretty good. You know if you hit .info it'll remove the list of names/pings/cpu usages from the lower right. Also, while most of the shots are really good, a few of them showcase Spring's not-so-hot collision detection and pathfinding (brawlers flying and turning into each other, being the main example), and one of the brawler shots gets low enough that you can see the un-modeled bottom side, which isn't very impressive.

Other than those few things, this is really neat. Nice work.

I like it.
The first scene with the Peewees/Mavericks on the mooncrater is cool.
Also liked the camera following the gunships and the black-white scenes.
Editing/scene selection is good too.

But imagine this is the first you hear about Spring and are probally a bit sceptic because "its free and uuh uhm it probally looks bad."
Of course then you still like the nukes, big robots and stuff but you also notice some of the blocky models slide across the land and so on..
Most models look best from top down view.

There could also be more (or longer) fight scenes, so you see what the game _plays_ like after you know what it _looks_ like.
An example could be some tanks breaking through a defended chokepoint or something.
But all in all, good work 8)

I've read your critisism so far.... and i hate you all yer gits! :P

Regarding hte gameplay thing, i did have something in mind with all the black and white shots, but i couldnt get it to work out the way i wanted, so then i just decided to make it more eye candy. :P

Regarding some of the shots with dodgey collisions etc, i tried, but yeah i reckon it can be improved.

If i do anymore videos i'll do one showing off how good some of the units can look in spring (such as Nanoblobs) and/or some better focus on game play.

:D

The music is from TA :x

And i don't want people coming up to me and asking why i have such great taste in music if i added my own :P

Pretty good but I think it needs some more top-down shots.

Also, the titles of the maps should procede scenes of those maps. It would be less confusing.

It's a great AA/XTA showcase, but spring can do alot more then just that. Admitantly TA is our main selling point, but I think we'd be doing ourselfs a diservice to not show off at least in cameo, SW:Spring, EE, Gundam Spring, and Final Frontier. Maby Nanoblobs too, but it's a little more of a minimod.

in my opinion, you shouldn't use the names of the maps at all, or advertise them. There are hundreds of maps available, and its not fair to have huge banners advertising specific ones. I also think that the trailer is not a very good representation of spring gameplay, it just shows closeups of battle and not particularly good closeups at that.

SW:Spring, EE, and gundam would be excellent additions as well.

WEll, this is the best Sporing movie I saw. It sure beats the hell out of mine ;)

The monoscrome beginning was cool. but lator that black/white didn't make much sence.

I rather had seen you use the core silencer from XTA for the nuke launching part

Don't forget Axis & Allies! (I think they are renaming to "1944" soon)

They haven't released yet, but they've got a heap done, so just ask Flozi for the latest beta to take some footage, or ask him or nemo to make some themselves.
