the base looks odd.. and you don't need so many sides for the barrel..since it will usally be seen from afar they don't have to be really round.

But they will be round, even up close, with many less sides, since spring smooths anytime it finds 6 or more faces around a central point. I would think 8 sides would be plenty, similar to the way you did the base of the barrel.
Aside from that, the cannons look good, but the base could use some beefing up, I feel. Think about the amount of recoil guns like that are goint to generate.

not bad for a first model.
reminds me of the Gatling Turrets China has in C&C Generals.
I think the "base" (the pyramid thingy) where the top of the turrets rotates, should be bigger.

I see some poligon reduction points.
And the base could be more non-boring.
But it looks good!

Think about what the Guardian or the Punisher bases look like. Pretty flat and wide, IMHO.

WAY too many different pieces, try using extrude, inset, cut etc.

Bruce it has 2 barrels that are 2 pieces(for the animation) the barrelhold the barrel base and a normal base how must i otherwise script it?

Unless that's a design decision, the base of the turret doesn't have to be hexagonal. A more rounded one could maybe look better... but that's just my opinion. The model's improved significantly, that's a good sign. :)

Did you? That was the first reply in the thread...

I think, from what you last showed us, that a little more attention should be paid to the actual turret now. Not too much, but think about a big gun:
The barrel doesn't usually have a boxy breach and nice round barrel. Detail the breach some, but not too much to make it unrenderable.
That is, if it's going down as a base defense kind of turret.
If it goes on a unit, I think it would look fine.

That post WAS the whole thread when it was made.
