Nobody should be using a pre2000 version of windows, Antivirus and firewalls arent enough to protect you even it you're on an XP system or Vista or 2000, you need to configure the OS correctly and apply all the latest patches, and that just cant be done on a 9x OS anymore.

Run anything elsew then windows if you want to be save from viruses etc.

XP will run on a 233mhz 64MB ram pc with all the fancy graphics turned off.

2000 will run on similar specs

For all else there's linux

There's no excuse for keeping Windows 95/98/ME on a PC, if you cant afford to upgrade, go get a free copy of linux, I beleive there are literally thousands of free linux distributions....

If we could 'force' all ppl with a pentium 1 to run linux, the world would already be a better place to live in.
