Say your doctor said you had some disease that caused severe eye degeneration, and said you had 24 hours until total blindness. What would you do?
I'd probably go for a hike, play spring for the last time, *cough* pr0n *cough*, and read my favourite book.

I remember there was a guy from the NS forums who was slowly going blind... I wonder what happened to him, if they ever tryed surgery for it and if so if it worked...

I hope he managed to get away from blindness. But then again, Beethoven wrote his best music when he was deaf.

For me life is about visual art. I am a visual person who learns better by seeing and I like to program and paint. Life would be hollow without art and painting.

Its not so much the rigging up thats the issue (just connect the arteries, bones and muscles), its getting the brain to use the new arm. Hooking the relevant nerves into the Nervous system isnt an easy job, as your spine doesnt have handy plug sockets for extra limbs.
