.sd7/7zip/compression problem

Am now getting into the mapping side of things, and knocking up a crappy metal map to get the basics out of the way. After messing around/abandoning Macromedia Fireworks, and compiling trillions of times, the compression is the only problem.

The .SMD/.SMF/.SMT are compressed into a .sd7 by 7Zip, no solid, and standard other settings. When i try the map, it cant find each of the three compressed files in turn. To get the map running, i need to have the the .sd7 and a copy of the 3 .SM's in the maps folder as well.

The Wiki doesn't catalogue this problem and no searches yield any results, so im assuming that its just me. any help would be much appreciated.

SMT: 31.9 K SMF: 1.72 MB sd7: 28.1 KB ?

Couple of things you might have missed:

Do not rename the files that mapconv spits out.

Make sure that the .sm* files are inside a maps/ folder inside the .sd7.

http://taspring.clan-sy.com/wiki/Image: ... ptions.jpg <-- is the correct way to compress things. Your settings sound right, but just to be sure

If this still doesnt help, post the compiled map files up here so we can have a look.

also, check some existing map sd7 packages with 7z to see how they did it.

Make a new folder called maps, put the 3 files in it, go back to previous level, compress the maps folder with 7-zip, rename to sd7.
